This Kershaw's Employee Product Review comes from our Office Manager Carolyn

My product review is on the break room section – yep, the whole section.
All my co-workers will assure you that this is most appropriate for me.
I’m always first in line when the treats come in for someone’s birthday!

You do know how many great snacks there are in there, don’t you?
Sometimes, in the middle of the day, I just open that section and gaze at the pages
wishing this bucket of Twizzlers was sitting on my desk.
Wishing never makes it appear, but if I order it today, I’ll have it tomorrow!
I could have Cheerios, Campbell’s soup, YooHoo Chocolate Drink,
Rice Krispies Treats, Pringles all delivered to my desktop!

Seriously though, there are some things in there that you need and can be added to your regular supply order. You may need a box of Tootsie Pops to cheer up an overworked office, a package of plates, cups, utensils for the lunchroom, a bright table cloth for the office party, a box of Doggie Snax for the pets that visit your office or even work there!  Check it out, page 1332 through 1365 in your Kershaw’s catalog or pull it up on line in our virtual catalog at www.kershaws-spokane.com.

HAPPY MAY DAY!

We thought we would kick off the start of the blog with a little bit about the history of Kershaw's!
Oh how the years go by......

Originally founded in 1900 as Western Typewriter by Fred Kershaw, typewriters were stacked on the sidewalks at 810 West Sprague and delivered in wagons. The name was changed to Kershaw’s Office Equipment in 1923 and in 1940 was incorporated as Kershaw’s Inc.  Fred Kershaw’s daughter and son-in-law took over the business in 1952 and sold it 10 years later to Wesley Melior.  The warehouse building where Kershaw’s resides today was purchased in 1962In 1973 Rudy Cozzetto purchased Kershaw’s and built the business to 5 locations. In 1993 Rudy Cozzetto sold Kershaw’s to his daughter, Diane, who worked at Kershaw’s from the age of 16 starting as a janitor.  Diane and her husband, Damien Mangano run Kershaw’s today with the same commitment to service started by Mr. Fred Kershaw in 1900.

So here we are, the current generation of Kershaw’s. Collectively we have well over 100 years of office supply and office furniture experience, and we’ve seen things come and go. We were sad to say goodbye to the 3 martini lunch, not so sad about typewriter ribbons and thermal fax paper. We’ve been around the block, we remember mimeograph fluid, correction tape that came in a little plastic box, carbon paper and spools of Scotch data tape bigger than a dinner plate.  We’re older than Post-it notes, CD’s and whiteboards. If you call us and ask for that black and red bound book with the journal ruled pages, we’re going to know you’re looking for a Boorum & Pease record book.  We’ve jumped at all the new technology and we’re still having fun selling office supplies and furniture.

So follow our blog…keep up with this new generation of the old Kershaw’s.  We hope to give you some good information, interesting facts, fun product videos and some things solely for your entertainment! Every month there will be a random drawing for a random prize of people following our blog – follow us – don’t miss the fun!
